Education and Certification

  • B.A. in Psychology
  • M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

After finishing with a B.A. in Psychology from Rutgers University, Mellissa started working for a crisis response program designed to assist consumers who struggled with mental health issues following the devastation of Super Storm Sandy. Mellissa has always been passionate about helping others and was able to take that passion and dedicate it towards assisting consumers in overcoming their struggles with mental health. While obtaining her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Mellissa found a strong passion for assisting others through co-occurring challenges involving mental health and substance abuse.

Why are you passionate about providing mental healthcare?

Mellissa is aware that mental health challenges impact people in different ways, and each person’s needs differ. These needs must be met with compassion, understanding, and individualized treatment plans. Mellissa also understands that mental health and substance abuse challenges can impact a family unit and has found a particular love for assisting individuals and their families through these challenges.
