About

Allie is a professional counselor. She decided to become a counselor because she enjoys being a support system for others. She truly believes therapy is for everyone and that everyone can benefit from having a safe, supportive and creative space for them to dive into weekly. Allie has worked in partial care, transitional housing facilities and has an extensive background providing outpatient counseling services. She tends to use a trauma-informed, holistic and strengths-based approach with all her clients – which is important because sometimes it can be easier to focus on what’s going wrong than what is going well. She also commonly uses CBT, MI, expressive therapy, and solution-focused strategies in sessions. Most recently, Allie was trained in TF-CBT by the CARES institute for adolescents who are survivors of abuse. When she is off the clock, you can find her in a spin class, outdoors, or playing with her dog, Bailey!

Trained in TF-CBT by the CARES Institute

Allison feels that her biggest achievement as a counselor has been working with adults and adolescents who are survivors of abuse. This started when she was in undergrad, as she had the opportunity to intern at a Children’s Alliance Center where childhood survivors of abuse are brought to complete forensic interviews for law enforcement. Due to her work there, she was awarded the Thomas H. Gerstley memorial prize that is given to one student who shows “great professional promise.” It also came with a scholarship that helped her finish her graduate program and eventually obtain her professional license.

Why Healthcare

Allison is passionate about creating a safe, non-judgmental space for everyone who walks through my door. Everyone deserves to have someone they can trust, open up to, and hope to get objective feedback from. Her goal is to help clients reach a better quality of life, whatever that looks like to them, and when that goal is met, and the client is able to acknowledge they did that themselves – that is the best “reward” a counselor can receive.
