About
Hanan is a dual board-certified nurse practitioner in Adult-Gerontology and Psychiatric Mental Health Practitioner. She graduated from La Salle University in 2016 with a Master’s degree of Adult-Gerontology. She worked in corrections as a primary care nurse practitioner/detox. She also worked as an APN in the psych unit at a local hospital. Prior to that she worked for seven years as a registered nurse (RN) at a psychiatric hospital. She also worked in various places as an RN.
In 2019 she obtained her Post-Master Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of New Hampshire. Her approach to treating individuals with mental health problems is to assist them to build resiliency in facing their own tragedies by giving them therapeutic advice and sharing with them proper treatment options that will help them get better in their journey of recovery.
Seeing patients in a long-term psychiatric facility and inmates in correctional institutions have only made her realize that help is crucial when first meeting individuals in outpatient care to avoid potential long-term hospitalization or incarceration due to their mental health issues and addiction.
Hanan is a New Yorker of Moroccan descent. She moved to New Jersey in 2011. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and interior design.

One of Hanan’s primary interests has been proving patients compassion and respect in her practice. Inserting hope that change is possible with the right treatments and determination to combat their addiction, this is why she became Buprenorphine certified. She knows the challenges that individuals can experience in their recovery process. However, she believes that small changes can lead to bigger plans and goals towards victory. She also believe that compassion and respect to each and every individual can make them progress towards recovery without being stigmatized.
Why Healthcare
Mental health should not be looked at as taboo and stigmata towards individuals as being dangers and incapable of handling life responsibilities effectively. Therefore, individuals should live a productive healthy life with the right treatment without having the fear of stigma from health care providers or by society in general that would make them suffer in silence and would make them self medicate. I am passionate about reducing preventable hospitalization, addiction, and incarceration due to mental health disorders.
