About
âYou are the ringmaster of your circus; Iâm just here to make sure you donât get stepped on by the elephants.â â Melissa Chance (Yes, she does say this to her clients. Yes, they do laugh)
Melissa believes that every person deserves to live a fulfilling life and feel like they have someone on their side during that journey. Many people donât have a strong support system, which is necessary. She wants to be that point of support for you. Finding a good therapist can be hard and intimidating. It takes time to create a therapeutic bond. She feels that it is just as important for her patients to know who she is as their clinician, as it is for me to know who they are as a client and person. Melissa prioritizes getting to know her clients and learning what works and doesnât; she then personalizes therapy based on this. She also feels that it is vital to practice what you preach and explore new skills. Melissa loves hearing about new strategies and skills and prioritizes self-care and practicing coping skills daily. She loves to utilize music, art, and humor in therapy sessions. Therapy is emotionally draining, but it doesnât always have to be. Weâll be the first one for you and help you learn ways to build and strengthen your own.

Why Healthcare
Melissa is passionate about providing mental health treatment because she feels that it is vital to have someone in your life that supports you and genuinely wants to help you succeed. She knew she wanted to be a therapist since she was a teenager. While growing up, she always felt like she was never good enough and would never amount to anything. Melissa felt like a disappointment, and her family did not help change that mindset. She pushed herself to prove them wrong and, more importantly, prove herself wrong. She wants to be the major support point for someone she wishes she had and needed.
