About

Briana is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She earned her undergraduate degree in 2010 at Goucher College with a major in Art and Art History. After moving to Brooklyn, NY, she worked in several marketing-based positions for small businesses and then as the administrative coordinator of a cancer research lab at Columbia University before returning to school to earn her degree in Social Work from Hunter College. Briana has been in clinical practice since 2017. She has experience working in the personal service unit of District Council 37 (DC 37), where she provided counseling for members of NYC’s largest public employee union around issues of job jeopardy, conflict resolution, and site-specific crisis management as well as personal/family issues impacting the well-being of individual members. Additionally, she has experience providing therapy to health care workers through the Mount Sinai Hospital’s employee assistance program (EAP). After six years in Brooklyn, Briana moved back to NJ and was employed as a primary therapist and then senior primary therapist, at Penn Medicine Princeton House, where she provided individual and group therapy to adolescents and adults, both in-person and virtually, before joining Harmony Bay.

As a clinical therapist, Briana believes that each person is an expert in themselves. However, sometimes we need a little help from an unbiased, neutral, yet empathetic and supportive third party in accessing and understanding that information. Using a strengths-based perspective, her goal is to help clients unlock that information and know themself better to more easily navigate the trials and tribulations they experience in their lives. Briana’s treatment approach blends elements from ACT, CBT, DBT, and solution-focused therapy while also taking a social justice perspective into account.

Through Briana’s education, training, and professional experience, she gained interest in the intersections of life and work and how they often overlap. Why Healthcare

As someone who has suffered from her own mental health issues, as well as witnessing many of her friends and family members battle their inner demons, she knows how lonely, scary, and overwhelming that experience can be and also how important and life-changing it can be to have someone to confide in, and you help through those ups and downs. “No man (person) is an island,” John Donne once wrote, and Briana firmly believes that. People are her passion, and she considers it a privilege to be let into their lives to help them.
