About
As a provider, Emily strives to provide a calming environment in which people will feel as though their voice is being heard. She believes that the hardest things we experience in life are also the moments in which the most effective change happens. She feels that it is important that we identify what we want and need in our lives, and then make strides to prioritize these. Because of this, she makes every effort she can to spend meaningful time with her family, which includes her two cats.
Emily has worked in community mental health providing individual, family, and couples counseling at the Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient levels. She has also worked as a medical social worker in hospital and hospice settings. She believes it is important for a provider to have a concrete understanding of mental health and how this impacts our physical health.

Why Healthcare
Emily’s passion is grief and loss; She studied death, dying, and bereavement as a core part of her undergraduate and graduate studies. She has interest in expanding her knowledge in different theories and concepts that can help us adapt and cope, such as nutrition and how this directly impacts mental health.
As humans we are not immune to loss and suffering, and unfortunately not every person has the resources available to them to manage these feelings and situations. Because of this, she feels passionate in her role as therapist to provide emotional support in the moment to those who need it the most. As a mental health provider, she gets the privilege to sit in the moment with someone as they experience the totality of feeling, and to help support them empathetically as they move through difficult experiences.
