About
Julie Quigley employs an integrative approach to supervision that integrates and adapts to the superviseeās needs and goals during supervision. She uses process techniques, psychotherapy, competency, and developmental-based approaches that include different models such as Interpersonal Process Recall, The Rogerian Person-centered Supervision Model, Microcounseling Supervision Model, and the Integrated Developmental Model.
However, she largely supervises with an Integrated Developmental Model supervision approach with novice counselors, in which the supervisor acts as a mentor, teacher, consultant, counselor, and evaluator. The objectives and goals of supervision vary according to the needs of the supervisee. At a minimum, supervision addresses intervention skills, assessment techniques, interpersonal assessment, client conceptualization, individual differences, theoretical orientation, treatment plans/goals, professional ethics, and identity. This may be accomplished through tape review, live observations, clinical note review, consultation, role-play, modeling, and supervision sessions.
