About
Mary fosters a warm and empathetic environment for clients ready to engage in their therapeutic journey. She recognizes that every individual's experiences are unique and specializes in supporting those navigating trauma, anxiety, and personal growth. Mary believes that nearly everyone encounters adversity, though she prefers to reframe these experiences as "speed bumps" rather than trauma. To her, these moments are reminders to slow down, reassess, and move forward with care, even when unexpected and more painful than anticipated. Understanding that perceptions and responses to life events vary greatly, Mary emphasizes normalizing individual reactions. For instance, two people may experience the same event, such as a car accident, yet respond in vastly different ways, one quickly resuming their routine while the other requires more time to recover. Her practice addresses the lingering impacts of these experiences, including developmental challenges, feelings of guilt, or social distress. Beyond her professional work, Mary finds joy in the companionship of her cat, who amusingly behaves like a dog, enjoying time outdoors in her fenced yard and visiting neighbors. She strongly believes in the therapeutic value of animals in providing emotional support. Additionally, she cherishes meaningful connections with her close friends and family, recognizing that, in many cases, her chosen family plays an essential role in her emotional well-being.

Why Healthcare
Mary is deeply committed to providing mental health services, driven by the experiences of her family and close friends who have faced mental health challenges. From an early age, she demonstrated a natural inclination toward helping others, often reaching out to peers who lacked friendships. Her passion for mental health began in eighth grade when she decided to pursue a career as a therapist. Her dedication was so strong that she wrote a letter to the CEO of the Menninger Foundation in Kansas, a renowned mental health institution in her hometown, expressing her aspirations in the field.
