Why are you passionate about providing mental healthcare?
I have always been curious about human behavior and as a result I have been drawn to this field. My experience began as a volunteer working with women who were victims of domestic violence. In working with these women and their families, I found myself being drawn to helping them and concerned about their wellbeing after we ended our relationship. As someone who has utilized professional counseling services, I recognize the vulnerability of sitting with a professional asking for direction in my own life. I truly understand this experience. I know what it it like and in cases where I do not have the same experience as my client, I can empathize with them on a human level.
