About
Catherine is dual-certified as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner. Her work experience includes nine and a half years as a family nurse practitioner in primary care, managing client panels of complex medical and psychiatric conditions across the lifespan. She worked with the profoundly disabled for more than six years, serving as their primary care clinician and healthcare advocate. She also worked with students in college health at Lebanon Valley College for more than two years, frequently addressing anxiety and substance misuse. Her in-depth knowledge of pharmacology, psychiatric conditions, and physical disease processes, along with her varied clinical experiences, has given her a comfort level in managing many different health conditions and client populations.
Catherine offers medication management, psychoeducation, health promotion, behavioral interventions, and the integration of therapeutic techniques. She is open to prescribing medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder. Catherine strives to create an open, accepting, empathetic, and non-judgmental alliance with each client that supports their unique path to wellness. She takes a holistic approach to care that looks at the needs of the whole person while valuing the client’s input in identifying and developing their treatment goals. She recognizes that it is not easy for any client to seek out professional help and attempts to meet each individual where they are in their current life journey. In her spare time, Catherine enjoys gardening, spending time outdoors, and trying out new recipes.

Why Healthcare
As a family nurse practitioner, Catherine observed clients with mental health conditions or substance use disorders suffer in private too often. It became common for clients to disclose their personal struggles to her during visits after she inquired about their mental health and substance use. After spending hours on the phone trying to help clients in crisis receive timely psychiatric care, Catherine found herself managing more of the mental health needs of her clients during visits. She became dual certified to increase her knowledge and skills in the mental health field and also increase clients’ access to care.
