Because of the coronavirus pandemic, Harmony Bay Wellness needed to shift its plan.
The new mental healthcare facility was slated to open its doors in Clementon in May. Instead, the group is up and running virtually, allowing New Jersey residents to connect with therapists and psychiatrists while maintaining social distancing.
Along with providing virtual services to patients, the group has also started offering free online telehealth therapy to essential healthcare workers every Tuesday and Thursday.
“We wanted to let people know we were out there, and we did just want to help,” said AJ Solomon, the co-founder of Harmony Bay Wellness. “I’m from the community, so we set up a support group for healthcare workers…with licensed therapists’ help for those workers that really need it.”
