About
Cheryl uses an integrative approach to counseling that utilizes skills from treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Through a strength-based approach and CBT skills training, she helps clients foster self-awareness and gain insight into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In addition, she draws upon mindfulness practices to help with various mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, stress, and aging issues.
Cheryl has experience working with culturally diverse populations and counseling clients of various ages. Before entering the counseling field, she had experience working in both the government and private sectors. However, assisting and sharing with clients' healing and growth processes have been most rewarding. In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching movies, and taking walks with her dogs.
