About
Melyssa graduated with her Master’s degree in social work during the pandemic in 2020 – a graduation via Zoom is definitely not what she had pictured when beginning her graduate degree! During her time in the field thus far, she has had the privilege of working with multiple demographics in addictions and mental health. Melyssa believes the best way to connect with clients is through fostering an environment of mutual trust and respect. She enjoys engaging clients in their treatment and truly giving them autonomy throughout the treatment process, wherever applicable. Melyssa typically utilizes talk therapy, motivational interviewing, and CBT techniques with clients. Most of her “free time” is spent with her 8 month old and 7 year old sons. Her days primarily consist of Minecraft and diaper changes. However, she does enjoy reading, cooking, and listening to true crime podcasts!

Why Healthcare
Mental health treatment can often lack the compassion and engagement that is so vital to client success. Melyssa is passionate about providing this service because she believes that every individual and their story holds such value despite current or past circumstances. Meeting someone where they are at is extremely powerful.
