About
Kaitlyn's personal philosophy is simple: just be happy. However, what does happiness look like? How do we define happiness and how do we get there? Life certainly isn't easy and sometimes we need help understanding circumstances and how we can grow from them (and that's OKAY!) Kaitlyn utilizes many therapeutic orientations with her clients, meaning she does not believe one approach is the best fit across the board. Kaitlyn often practices from a cognitive behavioral scope, while integrating other approaches such as person-centered, unconditional positive regard, dialectical behavioral therapies, and other modalities. Kaitlyn also incorporates her education in applied behavior analysis experience when necessary if behavior modification were to be discussed/addressed. Kaitlyn will use different outlets such as worksheets so her clients can visually see and track their progress and reference what they have worked on together in the future — better equipping her clients with the knowledge and the tools they may need outside of the therapy space. Kaitlyn views herself as a "crutch" when a client is unable to use both their legs, always there for support and to provide stability. However, when the client works and processes through their presenting problem, they no longer rely on Kaitlyn for support. They have developed their own strength and can now walk, even run, on their own - understanding and believing in themselves, however knowing Kaitlyn, the "crutch", is always there should the client need her again.
When Kaitlyn is not providing therapy, she enjoys photography, spending time with her husband and their fur baby, family and friends, being active outdoors, watching Netflix, and collecting healing stones/crystals!

Why Healthcare
Kaitlyn is passionate about providing mental healthcare because when she was in high school, she was bullied and physically assaulted. In college, Kaitlyn also experienced assault and these experiences showed Kaitlyn that the world needs individuals who are willing to take the pain that sometimes happens - and translate it into strength skill sets others can learn and utilize for themselves when situations outside of their control arise.
