About

Kat is a seasoned mental health professional with over 15 years of experience providing mental health services to adolescents, adults, and families. She employs a relational approach to therapy and has extensive experience in helping clients navigate their concerns. Kat holds master's degrees in social work and psychology and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts. Her warm and empathic clinical style and trauma-informed approach creates a safe and supportive environment for clients. With a background in crisis intervention, assessment, and individual therapy, Kat brings a wealth of expertise to her practice. She has received significant training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), substance abuse counseling, and animal-assisted therapy, enabling her to offer comprehensive support to those in need. Kat's clinical interests also extend to assisting clients disengaging from high control groups or situations, helping them reclaim agency and empowerment in their lives. Originally from the Washington DC area, she now calls the Berkshires home. In her spare time, she fosters kittens, knits, gardens, and swims. She has a friendly dog named Ruth and an occasionally friendly cat named Pippa. On a warm summer afternoon, you will find her lounging in a hammock reading a book.

Why Healthcare

Therapy was a huge help in Katherineā€™s life, particularly as a young adult. Among many other things, therapy helped her leave a high control group and forge her own path, and helped her to understand the impact of a relativeā€™s narcissistic personality disorder on her own well-being. Katherine left her job in the corporate world in 2005, finding meaning in helping others heal as well.
