Dr. Zainab Taiwo is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Rush University. With a foundation built on clinical excellence and cultural humility, she brings a warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative approach to mental health care. She has extensive experience working with adults across diverse backgrounds and specializes in the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety, and ADHD. She is trained in advanced modalities including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Spravato (esketamine) for treatment-resistant depression. She emphasizes medication management grounded in evidence-based practice. She takes time to educate and partner with each patient to ensure their care aligns with their values, needs, and lived experiences as a Nigerian-American woman who understands the importance of identity and intersectionality in mental wellness. She is passionate about creating affirming, culturally responsive spaces where patients feel seen and supported. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, practicing self-care rituals, and experimenting with DIY nail art. She believes that joy and restoration are vital to healing, and she incorporates this philosophy into the care she provides.
