Pattie's personal experience with treating and living with those affected by mental illness provides a deep understanding of the importance of therapeutic communication while fostering a collaborative relationship to address psychological, emotional, and physical well-being with the goal of empowerment toward the accomplishment of personal goals.
In addition to Pattie's passion for raising awareness regarding the importance of mindfulness and mental health, Pattie enjoys spending time with her husband of 30 years and three adult children, traveling, being outdoors, and staying in touch with her competitive nature.

Why Healthcare
Pattie James is passionate about providing mental healthcare because, as a teenager, Pattie witnessed the effects of limited access to mental healthcare in the community when her brother experienced his first psychotic episode. In addition, Pattie has served in a leadership role in correctional healthcare with first-hand knowledge of the effects of mental health amongst individual populations and addressing the barriers to promote improved access to care.
