Anya's professional experience includes working in long-term care facilities for the aging and disabled (death and dying, complex grief disorders), Individuals with severe mental illness and substance use disorders, Veterans with a history of trauma and post-deployment disorders, prison re-entry programs, domestic violence, adolescent substance use disorders, and outpatient mental health programs serving those with marriage and family challenges, as well as mild to moderate mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression.
Anya believes it is her job to offer multiple recovery options in a session and allow the patient to choose their own individual recovery journey. She is able to recommend a higher level of care as needed and believes it is important to be honest and transparent in a compassionate manner while also asking for that honesty in return.
Anya's treatment approaches include compassionate listening and understanding, as well as finding ways to motivate patients from their current situation to an improved state of functioning and life-fulfilling activities and perspectives. Her patients look forward to their sessions. Anya will find ways to make recovery exciting and fun while simultaneously practicing within the serious nature of the issues presented. Her colleagues have referred to her as "the angel of the agency" with "brilliant" insight. She has devoted years to this industry and understands diverse populations, yet is young enough to continue relating to patients in any age bracket.
Anya's hobbies include spending time with family and friends, restoring her historic home, riding horses, and spending time with her Great Danes, King, Ace, and Rosey. Anya also enjoys listening to all types of music, most specifically Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.
