About
Denise is an LCSW who earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Georgian Court University in 2009 and graduated with her Master's in Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2017. She has experience working in an adult outpatient mental health setting and had previously worked at a leading agency in mental health. Denise's counseling areas include a specialized focus on young adult transitions ranging in ages from 21-29, helping individuals deal with college stress, job searching, moving out and budgeting, social skills, time management, ADHD, relationship struggles, self-esteem, and bullying. She is also well versed in treating adults in their 30s from ages 30-37, addressing adult life issues such as work stress, marriage struggles, making friendships as adults, dating anxiety, and adjusting to parenting.
Denise is overall well educated and excellent in treating diagnoses such as anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, mood disorders, OCD, ADHD, and women's issues. However, she does not have experience in trauma therapy, so if someone is struggling with trauma or post-traumatic stress disorder, she may not be the clinician best suited for them. Additionally, she is not experienced in working with clients over 60 years old in the geriatric treatment area.
Some of the interventions that Denise particularly uses include CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Problem Solving Therapy, Mindfulness, Strengths-Based Therapy, and Psychodynamic therapy. She engages with clients one on one in a warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental manner.
