About
Dr. Rosen treats adolescents and adults ages ten and up and manages all aspects of psychiatry. Because of his internal medicine background, Dr. Rosen focuses on the entire person. He prefers to prescribe the least amount of medication possible and discusses with the patient why medication may or may not be appropriate.
While some issues are mainly psychosocial (such as anxiety from life transitions) and may not call for medication, others are more biological in nature and, therefore, difficult to treat without medications (such as bipolar disorder and ADHD).
Alternatives are always discussed, and in the end, Dr. Rosen believes the client is ultimately in charge of their own care.
Dr. Rosen sees himself as a guide, providing the information and tools so that a patient can reach the personal life goals one seeks and live as happy and healthy a life as possible.

Why Healthcare
The field of psychiatry provides an opportunity to heal and help others on many levels and in many ways. Not only is the individual's life markedly improved, but the lives of those close to the individual are also significantly touched. One must sleuth to find the true origin of the pathos and then creatively balance a prescription of various therapies, medications, and now, other biological interventions. I believe we are entering the golden age of psychiatry, with numerous novel approaches to treatment unfolding at this time. It is incredibly exciting!
