Melanie Timbers is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who believes that while it takes tremendous courage to seek therapy, she also believes this is the first step toward positive change and transformation. She enjoys providing therapy, approaching each client with a desire to understand their concerns, desires, hopes, and expectations in therapy, and uses an integrative therapeutic approach to help each client achieve their desired goals.
Melanie has experience working in the field of mental health in inpatient, intensive outpatient, outpatient therapy, individual, and group therapy settings. She has especially enjoyed her experiences in programs focused on mental health in an integrated healthcare setting, working with adults experiencing mood disorders, anxiety, OCD, interpersonal relationship stressors, stressors with life transitions, and substance use disorders.
Melanie's approach is client-centered as she always seeks to create a kind, relaxed, and nonjudgmental space for therapy in which she incorporates an integrative therapeutic modality approach incorporating Person-Centered, CBT, DBT, Trauma Informed, Solution Focus Therapy and also welcomes integrating Christian Counseling at the individual's request and discretion in therapy.
Melanie's educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Carlow University and a Master of Social Work (MSW) Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She also earned her LSW in 2019 and LCSW in 2023. When she is not meeting with clients, Melanie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, exercising, watching a good movie, or listening to music.
