About

Leigh is a New Jersey-based Licensed Social Worker who received her Bachelor's degree in Contemplative Psychology from Naropa University and her Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from Kean University. Leigh's broad professional background ranges from inpatient substance abuse treatment, school and home-based adolescent behavioral therapy, psychiatric hospital settings, equine-assisted psychotherapy, and beyond. However, her most consistent professional foundation has been providing clinical therapy in the outpatient setting. Her experience has included treatment of depression, anxiety, ADHD and ODD, mood and personality disorders, crisis management and intervention, family work, self-esteem, and mindfulness-based stress management practices. Leigh provides individualized treatment using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, and a strengths-based approach.

Leigh believes in a collaborative approach between client and therapist to build comprehensive and unique plans to meet each client's specific needs. She is dedicated to creating a trusting and genuine space while accompanying the individual on their journey towards healing and reclaiming their true potential.

In her free time, Leigh values time in nature with her family and dog, escaping into a good book and exploring her new home turf of New Jersey.

Why Healthcare

Leigh's journey in the mental health field began at nineteen when she began her journey as an intern in an inpatient substance abuse facility. Over the years, she continued to explore different avenues in the mental health field. When Leigh's hometown community Newtown CT suffered the Sandy Hook school shooting tragedy. Leigh first-handedly experienced the communal recovery effort from this widespread trauma and witnessed the best of humanity coming together. Since then, Leigh has pursued a full-time psychotherapist career and will soon be a fully credentialed Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Leigh's primary goal is to hold space for processing while teaching skills that bring meaningful and positive change into the lives of her clients. The learning and healing that therapy holds can lead to immediate relief and long-term improvement and growth over time. Leigh is honored you have considered allowing her to join your journey.
