Melissa's background as an Asian-American Christian woman allows her to understand the unique issues of identity exploration and intersectionality from a minority perspective. Melissa believes in the need for holistic healing across a person's cognitive, emotional, spiritual, and physical dimensions. Melissa uses a foundation of Person-centered therapy and Cognitive Behavioral therapy that works collaboratively with the client, with the belief that the client is the expert on their own experiences and Melissa works with the client to identify their goals and provide the tools and space to help the client reach them.
In her own time, Melissa enjoys spending time with her family and friends enjoying food together, sight-seeing and being physically active. Melissa also regularly attends and serves at her church. Melissa also enjoys karaoke, playing piano and listening to a range of music.
